Q: What kind of jewelry do you buy?
A: We buy all gold jewelry. We buy silver jewelry marked "sterling" or "925".
Q: How do you determine the fineness of my jewelry?
A: Sometimes we have to test your gold jewelry if it is not properly marked or if there is some doubt regarding its fineness. Testing helps to ensure the accuracy of our appraisal. We do not have an accurate test for determining fineness of silver jewelry which is why we can only buy silver marked "sterling" or "925".
Q: What kind of silverware do you buy?
A: We buy all silverware and silver service items as long as they are marked "sterling" or "925."
Q: I have heavy candlesticks. Do you buy these?
A: Candlesticks are typically weighted with cement to keep them from tipping over. You will need to remove the cement and any non-silver hardware before bringing these items. Smashing them with a hammer usually does the job. However before you take a hammer to your candlestick make certain it is properly marked. Please give us a call for additional tips if you run into difficulty.
Q: I have a silver item that is not jewelry or tableware. Would you buy it?
A: Yes. We buy anything silver as long as it is marked "sterling" or "925" or has papers certifying its composition.
Q: Do you buy diamonds?
A: No. Normally we buy jewelry for its gold content and not the accompanying gem stones. Besides, most colored stones found in commercial jewelry have very little value. We will buy settings with pave diamonds but due to their small size and low value we do not remove them. However, if you have a sizeable diamond that you want to keep, we would be happy to safely remove it from a setting you wish to sell.
Q: Do you buy gold watches?
A: Yes. We buy anything made of gold.
